The Vocations Committee strives to increase awareness of all vocations in response to the universal call to holiness. Throughout the year we sponsor events, services and prayers for an increase in vocations to the priesthood, deaconate, religious life, marriage and single life. We promote holiness lived out through various vocations and in everyday life, whether in marriage, religious life, single life, or ordained ministries.
Our activities include writing seminarians and men in the diaconate, making welcome bags for the new seminarians, praying for members of our clergy and religious orders, writing cards of thanks to the altar servers at Christmas, writing bulletin announcements of Catholic vocation activities such as World Marriage Day and periodically distributing holy cards that recognize one of the vocations.
The Vocations Committee at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish is dedicated to providing prayerful support for all clergy and religious, both in our parish and worldwide. Tom Dionise serves as chairman and Deacon David Witter serves as moderator/facilitator.
