Founded in 1617 by St. Vincent de Paul and together with St. Louise de Marillac and St. Elisabeth Ann Seton, they responded willingly to the needs of the poor. Working without recognition for their efforts, they ministered to the poor among them.
The Ladies of Charity at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish strive to follow the example of these saints by ministering to those among us undergoing challenging circumstances.
Women of all ages, professions, and retirees, who are motivated by the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Louise de Marillac, and St. Elisabeth Ann Seton are welcomed to join us in their mission. We meet on the third Monday of the month, generally September through June. Our meetings are held at Schoppol Hall on the St. Teresa of Avila campus at 6:30 p.m.
Some of our ministries:- Helping the needy at Christmas time
- Providing small gifts and/or cards to the shut-ins during the holidays
- Praying for the deceased of our parish and remembering and praying for
- Assisting with the annual Anointing Mass
- Making and distributing prayer shawls and lap blankets to comfort the seriously ill
- Collecting and donating material goods for various community agencies
- Praying for the intentions of our members
- Participating in the ministry of the Spiritual Society of the Unclaimed Dead

We are a group of young women who prayerfully work together against all forms of poverty. We invite you to bring your unique talents as we plan and complete our many, diverse projects. Service hours may be accumulated for those that collect them. Our target audience is 8th grade through high school girls. -

The Junior Ladies of Charity at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish are recruiting young women from eighth grade through high school age to be a part of our organization. You can learn more by viewing the above video, which features current members of our parish organization and was created by Ann Hoyson and her son Mitchell Hoyson.
